A global project received 1,076 submissions of food stories via digital platforms from countries including China, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, Canada, Pakistan, and India. Of these, 88 stories were archived, with 67 published on the project website and social media, generating over 2.5 million online engagements.

The stories show that culinary heritage is preserved not just in recipes but in daily practices, sharing food, and recalling memories. Some entries document techniques precisely, while others are memoirs reflecting migration, grief, reunion, and resilience.

A recurring theme is food as a language of care. Many accounts describe families who do not express affection openly but show love through preparing each other's favorite dishes. One contributor from Gansu shared how her mother sent frozen ribs from over 1,500 kilometers away, never asking directly about her well-being but always about whether the ribs had been eaten.
