The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has observed that the ceasefire effective since 19 June is being generally respected, with no recent missile launches or airstrikes reported aside from two projectiles identified on Tuesday. However, Israeli drones continue to violate Lebanese airspace, and Israeli army armored movements, military engineering, and logistical activities persist within UNIFIL's area. Israeli tanks have fired near Al Bayyadah, and Israeli patrol boats remain active in Lebanese waters off Naqoura near the mission’s headquarters. While strikes have ceased, the military presence remains significant in the region.
In the Gaza Strip, UN humanitarian agencies report worsening conditions, aggravated by Israeli restrictions on importing materials needed for emergency shelters. The Kerem Shalom crossing is the only operational entry point for humanitarian cargo, where UN teams collect and distribute food, hygiene kits, and medical equipment. Health services continue despite the crisis, with nearly 240,000 medical consultations across 194 health points in the past week.
Meanwhile, around 11,000 seafarers are still awaiting evacuation from the Persian Gulf due to disruptions following the conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran. The International Maritime Organization’s evacuation operation was suspended after a new attack on a vessel in the Gulf of Oman. This suspension coincides with active negotiations between Washington and Tehran after a recent Memorandum of Understanding intended to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Despite an initial round of talks in Switzerland concluding on Monday, conflicting statements from the US and Iranian governments have added uncertainty to the outcome.
