The White House has opened applications for volunteers and performers for the 2026 Christmas season. US residents aged 18 and older from all states and territories are invited to apply individually to help decorate or perform at the People’s House during the holidays.
Decoration volunteers will serve between November 23 and November 29, 2026. Performers—including school bands, choirs, and holiday-themed entertainers—can apply to perform at holiday open houses throughout December. Applications are due by August 28, 2026, and selected volunteers will be notified by October 2, 2026.
Volunteers are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and personal expenses. Group applications are not accepted. Additional details are available on the application pages.
