The World Athletics Ultimate Championship Budapest 26 began with the mixed 4x100m relay, where the USA claimed victory with a time of 39.64 seconds.
This result marked the second-fastest time in history for the event, just 0.02 seconds behind the world record set by Jamaica at the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone 26 earlier that year.
The USA team included Ronnie Baker, who started strongly, followed by Anavia Battle. Courtney Lindsey maintained the team's lead on the third leg, and Kayle White secured the win with a strong anchor leg.
Jamaica, the previous World Relays winners, finished second with a time of 39.72 seconds, with Ackeem Blake and Tina Clayton excelling in the first half.
Great Britain & NI, European champions, finished third with a time of 40.26 seconds.
Ronnie Baker expressed excitement about being the first Ultimate champions and praised the event and the enthusiastic crowd.
