According to WFP Myanmar Country Director Michael Dunford, logistics is critical when floodwaters isolate communities, and WFP is enabling a collective response by opening transport lines to humanitarian partners.

For at least two weeks, WFP will transport food, nutrition assistance, water, sanitation and hygiene supplies, medicines, and emergency shelter materials to civilians in areas that are hard to reach. This initiative also includes an emergency food response in Myanmar’s Sagaing Region.
