Kenya’s Emmanuel Kiprono set a new championship record in the men’s 3000m at the World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26, clocking 7:28.28. His time ranks him second on the world U20 all-time list, just 0.09 seconds behind Yomif Kejelcha’s U20 world record from 2016. France’s Alois Abraham took silver with 7:47.79, while Ojiro Honda earned bronze with a Japanese U20 record of 7:48.49.
