Note: Single-source report; awaiting corroboration.
On June 13, 2026, Nara Organics recalled all Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula, a powdered formula sold at Target stores, Target.com, and Nara.com. This brand represents less than 1% of the U.S. infant formula market, so the recall is not expected to cause nationwide shortages.
Parents and caregivers are advised not to use the recalled formula. Unopened cans should be discarded or returned. For opened cans, take a photo, record the lot number and use-by date, and consider keeping the can for possible testing if symptoms develop. Label any leftover formula "DO NOT USE" and store it separately for at least a month before disposal if no symptoms occur.
Monitor infants who consumed the formula for symptoms of infant botulism, which may appear several weeks after exposure. Signs include poor feeding, loss of head control, difficulty swallowing, and decreased facial expression. Seek immediate medical attention if these symptoms develop.
Healthcare professionals are reminded that diagnosing infant botulism is based on clinical signs. Untreated cases can lead to progressive paralysis and respiratory failure, often requiring prolonged hospitalization. Clinicians can consult the Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program 24/7 at 510-231-7600. Treatment with BabyBIG® is recommended for suspected cases.
