World Aquatics has announced the 2027 Diving Recognised Events calendar, forming the foundation of the international diving competition pathway. Early events include Sheffield, Great Britain (February 4-7); Madrid, Spain (April 1-4); Rostock, Germany (April 8-11); and Windsor, Canada (April 15-18). These competitions follow World Aquatics regulations, aiming to increase access for National Federations to host domestic diving events.
Additionally, the World Aquatics Diving World Cup will feature stops in Canada and Mexico, ending with a Super Final in China. These events take place ahead of the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, scheduled for June 26 to July 4, 2027—the highlight of the diving calendar.
World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam praised National Federations for their role in hosting these competitions. He emphasized the significance of international competitions for athletes and the global growth of the sport, thanking host cities for their support.
Bashar Al-Saffar, Chair of the World Aquatics Diving Technical Committee, emphasized the calendar's benefits for emerging athletes and judges. He noted the Recognised Events are vital for divers to gain competition experience and for judges to progress in their certification.
World Aquatics stated that more Recognised Events for 2027 will be confirmed in the coming months. National Federations interested in hosting should apply through the designated process.
