Richard Omaya Atuya and Ruth Gitonga Mwihaki claimed first place in the men's and women's races, respectively, at the Grossglockner Mountain Run, part of the WMRA Mountain Running World Cup in Austria. Both races featured Kenyan podium sweeps, underscoring the country's strength in mountain running.

The 13.3 km course featured a 1,300-meter vertical ascent, taking athletes from Heiligenblut through forests, waterfalls, and alpine meadows before reaching the high mountain terrain overlooking the Pasterze Glacier. The race concluded with 522 steps leading up to the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe.

In the men's competition, Atuya took a commanding lead by the 6 km mark near the Leiter Waterfall and continued to widen his advantage, finishing in 1:10:20. Ephantus Njeri and Elijah Kamau Kariuki completed the Kenyan sweep, clocking 1:12:33 and 1:14:26, respectively. Italy's Tiziano Moia placed fourth, while Germany's Lukas Ehrle finished fifth.

The women's race was closely contested early on, with the lead group passing through the forest together. The field broke up during the climb toward Margaritzenstausee and Sandersee, with positions settled near the glacier. Ruth Gitonga Mwihaki won in 1:22:29, followed by Jedidah Sang (1:23:26) and Gloria Chebet (1:24:34) for another Kenyan sweep. Kirsty Skye Dickson and Ellen Crombie of Great Britain placed fifth and sixth, with three Italian athletes finishing in the top ten.

This was the eighth race of the WMRA Mountain Running World Cup season, highlighting Kenyan athletes' remarkable form at the midpoint of the series.
