Ludovica Terlizzi claimed victory in the first Girls' event at the World Junior Championships by building a substantial early lead and maintaining it throughout the race. After finishing sixth at the European Junior Championships, Terlizzi set out to compete fearlessly in her final World Junior appearance. She established a 26-second lead after the first lap and ultimately finished 1 minute 20.3 seconds ahead of the silver medalist.
Terlizzi credited her coach Alessio, calling him a second father, along with her family, friends, and team for their support. She noted that a mindset shift a month prior to the race, guided by her coach and psychologist, motivated her to perform at her best.
