The UN Secretary-General has expressed deep concern over the escalation of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, particularly in Nabatieh district, condemning the mounting civilian casualties—including women and children—killed and injured in the intensifying attacks. He has called for an immediate halt to hostilities and urged Israel to withdraw its forces from Lebanese territory. The Secretary-General also highlighted distress and displacement caused by evacuation orders and described widespread destruction across the district. The statement emphasized compliance with international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians and civilian objects at all times, deeming attacks against them unacceptable.
