The 2026 Doha Diamond League, set for Friday (19), will bring together the men’s javelin and triple jump podium finishers from the 2025 World Championships, alongside other global champions, as part of its seventh meeting of the season.
In the men’s javelin, world champion Keshorn Walcott, two-time world champion Anderson Peters, and world bronze medallist Curtis Thompson will face off again. The field also features 2021 Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra making his 2026 season debut, and Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, the current world leader with a personal best of 92.62m in Rome and a 6-1 competition record for 2026.
Doha has historically seen strong javelin performances, with several athletes achieving personal bests, including Chopra, Peters, and Jakub Vadlejch. The elite field and favorable conditions may produce more notable results this year.
In the men’s triple jump, 2025 World Championship podium finishers Pedro Pichardo, Andrea Dallavalle, and Lazaro Martinez will compete, joined by world indoor silver medallist Jordan Scott and bronze medallist Yasser Triki, both with significant season bests.
The women’s triple jump features world indoor and outdoor champion Leyanis Perez Hernandez, Olympic champion Thea Lafond, world indoor bronze medallist Saly Sarr, and Davisleydi Velazco, who has won her last five events.
Highlights also include Olympic champion Marileidy Paulino making her 2026 Diamond League debut in the women’s 400m, competing against Olympic bronze medallist Natalia Bukowiecka and Roxana Gomez. In the men’s 110m hurdles, world champion Cordell Tinch will compete against Jamal Britt, a recent sub-13-second performer.
