Alegna González secured a silver medal in the 20km race walk at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25, setting a North American record with a time of 1:26:06 and finishing behind Spain’s Maria Perez, a four-time world champion. González has consistently placed in the top eight at major championships over the past four years, including fifth-place finishes at the 2021 and 2024 Olympic Games.
