Paul Biedermann Breaks 200m Freestyle World Record at 2009 Rome Worlds

At the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome, Paul Biedermann won gold in the 200m freestyle, setting a world record time of 1:42.00.

Biedermann had previously secured the 400m freestyle world record earlier in the competition.

His main competitor in the 200m was Michael Phelps, but on July 28, 2009, no swimmer was able to match the German champion's pace.
