Larissa Iapichino, Italy's national long jump record holder, broke the previous record held by her mother, Fiona May, with a 7.12m jump at the Pre Classic on July 4. She is recognized as one of the world's top long jumpers in 2024, being a two-time Diamond League champion and a medallist at both World and European levels.
When discussing her ultimate athletic ambitions, Iapichino stated her goal is to complete athletics as her career objective and named Usain Bolt as her ultimate athlete. She also looked forward to the European Athletics Championships 2024 in Rome as an important upcoming event.
Outside of athletics, she expressed her love for pizza when returning to Italy and enjoys nights in with friends, homemade dinners, takeout, movies, and board games. She values kindness, curiosity, and perseverance, and revealed a hidden talent for imitating a goat. Iapichino also enjoys beach days with friends and hopes to visit Jamaica to explore her roots.
