NASA has announced that Ireland will sign the Artemis Accords during a ceremony at 3 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 4, at NASA Headquarters in Washington.

The event will be hosted by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman and will include Ambassador of Ireland to the United States Geraldine Byrne Nason, Ireland's Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment Peter Burke, T.D., and officials from the U.S. Department of State.

The Artemis Accords, introduced in 2020 by the United States with seven other founding nations, outline principles to enhance safety, transparency, and coordination in civil space exploration activities on the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

According to NASA, the Accords address growing interest in lunar activities from governments and private companies, providing an international framework for space exploration cooperation.

The signing ceremony is an in-person event. Media representatives who wish to attend must RSVP by 12 p.m. on May 4, in accordance with NASA’s media accreditation policy.
