The World Athletics Ultimate Championship is introducing multiple innovations to enhance fan engagement both inside the stadium and for viewers at home. Broadcasts will feature augmented reality, athlete headshots, and new data points such as live win probabilities and expected finishing positions that update in real time. The competition areas are distinctly highlighted by a black infield design to maintain focus on the events. Major broadcasters including the BBC, NBCUniversal, L’Équipe, and TBS will present the event with this new look and feel.
Pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis has contributed by writing and performing the event’s official anthem, 'Gold,' available on popular streaming platforms. Duplantis, who already has millions of listeners, joins the championship as both athlete and musical performer.
Fans attending the event in Budapest can participate in behind-the-scenes tours of the Gyula Zsivotzky National Athletics Centre. These tours offer access to areas usually reserved for athletes and officials and include personalized bibs, goodie bags, souvenir photos, and a chance to win seat upgrades. Tickets for this experience are selling quickly.
The event also features the Ultimate Fan Challenge, a competition concluding inside the stadium. Three finalists, including two quiz winners and one public-selected content creator, will compete live alongside Usain Bolt for the title of Ultimate Fan.
The championship has also launched a new mobile app to enhance fan interaction globally. The app offers athlete stories, live updates, video content, interactive games, and prediction features, becoming a central hub for the championship experience.
