Bence Halász delivered the best performance of his career, winning the men’s hammer throw at the European Championships in Birmingham with a world-leading Hungarian record of 84.25m. This throw placed him 10th on the world all-time list. Halász led early with 80.96m and improved with his third throw, before his decisive fifth-round effort. He broke the previous Hungarian record of 84.19m, set by Adrian Annus in 2003. German Merlin Hummel took silver with 81.30m, and Ukraine’s Mykhaylo Kokhan won bronze with a personal best of 79.49m in the fifth round. Halász expressed surprise at his result and looked forward to competing in Budapest at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship.

Miltiadis Tentoglou continued his dominance in the men's long jump, winning his fourth consecutive European title. After Switzerland’s Simon Ehammer led early with 8.29m, Tentoglou moved ahead with an 8.44m jump in round four to secure gold. Ehammer finished second, and Bulgaria’s Bozhidar Saraboyukov took bronze with a late 8.26m effort.

Nadia Battocletti successfully defended her European title in the women's 5000m, winning with a strong finish after a tactical race. Romell Glave led a British one-two finish in the men’s 100m event.
