The virtual reality experience Alcohol and Your Brain invites teens aged 13 and older to discover how alcohol affects five key brain regions: the prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, amygdala, hippocampus, and cerebellum. Users control a virtual rollercoaster simulating these effects, with options to pause for detailed insights at each region. The experience is available through Quest VR headsets or video formats.
Additional resources offer neuroscience materials for students, including videos, lesson plans, activities, and handouts for elementary through high school levels, supporting both learning and teaching.
Mindfulness exercises such as Heartbeat provide short activities to help middle and high school students manage emotions and calm racing heartbeats. These exercises require no additional materials and take only a few minutes.
Other programs emphasize mental and emotional health, teaching teens positive behaviors and coping skills to manage stress and reduce the likelihood of substance use. Some resources are also available in Spanish to broaden access.
