Shanghai, a UNESCO City of Design since 2010, has announced an international call for outstanding works for the 2026 Shanghai Design 100+ Award. This initiative aims to highlight creativity in various design fields, promote global exchanges, and support industrial growth. No application fee is required.
Eligible participants include international companies, studios, institutions, and individual designers. Submissions are invited in product, fashion, architecture/space, digital/multimedia, service/brand, visual, and conceptual design categories. Applications must be submitted by June 30, 2026, and should include an information form with supporting images and videos.
A panel of domestic and international experts, together with public voting, will shortlist 300 projects and select 100 finalists. Four Grand Prizes totaling 2 million RMB will reward excellence in AI innovation, cultural and creative design, sustainable ecological solutions, and human-centered design focused on female designers.
Winners will receive certificates, trophies, and opportunities to participate in the World Design Cities Conference in September 2026. Additional benefits include authorization to use the Shanghai Design 100+ logo, official media promotion, prioritization for industrialization, and other support from the Shanghai Municipal Government.
