The women’s triple jump at the 2026 World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest features top contenders Thea LaFond, Leyanis Pérez Hernández, and Saly Sarr, all with recent performances over 15 metres. LaFond holds the world lead of 15.25m, set in June in Zagreb, placing her joint ninth on the all-time list and improving her Dominican national record set at the 2024 Olympics. LaFond described the Zagreb jump as one of the easiest of her career.
Other athletes surpassing 15 metres this season include Cuba’s Davisleydi Velazco, who jumped 15.13m for consecutive Diamond League wins, and Senegal’s Saly Sarr, who set a national record at 15.08m and claimed the Diamond League championship in Brussels. Sarr consistently achieved high placements throughout the Diamond League, finishing ahead of Pérez Hernández and Velazco in the final with 14.96m.
Cuba's Leyanis Pérez Hernández, the reigning world indoor champion, has placed in the top three at every Diamond League meet this year. She aims to defend her elite status in Budapest, where she first won a world bronze medal in 2023.
