President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will host Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom for a State Dinner, celebrating 250 years of American independence and the Special Relationship between the two nations. First Lady Melania Trump led the preparations for the event.
The menu features four courses: beginning with a garden vegetable velouté and hearts of palm salad with toasted shallots and micro mint, followed by spring herb ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and morels, topped with parmesan emulsion. The main course is Dover sole meunière with potato pavé, spring ramps, snow peas, and parsley oil. Dessert includes a beehive-shaped flourless chocolate gâteau with vanilla bean crémeux, almond joconde sponge, crème fraîche ice cream, and White House honey.
Wines selected to complement the menu and honor shared heritage are Hopkins Riesling “Heritage” 2024, Penner-Ash Pinot Noir “Willamette Valley” 2022, and Newton Chardonnay “Unfiltered” 2022.
Entertainment will include performances by United States military musicians: the Marine Band, Army Chorus, Army Strings, Army Herald Trumpets, Air Force Singing Sergeants, and Air Force Strings.
The evening's décor highlights a mutual appreciation for gardens with cherry blossom motifs.
