U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright announced key leadership changes at the Department of Energy (DOE). Kyle Haustveit was confirmed by the Senate and sworn in as Under Secretary of Energy. Haustveit previously managed a broad portfolio, including oil, coal, natural gas, and geothermal energy, and oversaw the National Energy Technology Laboratory as Assistant Secretary of the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office.

Alex Fitzsimmons was also appointed Associate Deputy Secretary of Energy and Senior Advisor to the Secretary. Fitzsimmons previously served as Acting Under Secretary of Energy, playing a key leadership role at the Department.

According to Secretary Wright, these leadership changes reinforce the DOE's mission to deliver affordable, reliable, and secure energy to the American people, while advancing the federal energy agenda.
