The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating Salmonella outbreaks linked to moringa leaf powder supplements. Multiple brands have been recalled due to potential contamination.

The CDC recommends consumers avoid consuming any recalled dietary supplements, dispose of or return them, and thoroughly clean items and surfaces that may have been in contact with the products. Individuals experiencing symptoms such as diarrhea with fever over 102°F, prolonged diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, severe vomiting, or signs of dehydration should seek medical care promptly.

Salmonella infection symptoms usually start 6 hours to 6 days after exposure. Common symptoms include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Most people recover within 4 to 7 days without treatment, but children under 5, adults over 65, and immunocompromised individuals may develop more severe illness requiring hospitalization.
