The U.S. Department of Energy's Transportation Technologies Office (TTO) will hold its 2026 Annual Merit Review (AMR) from June 1 to June 4, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City hotel in Arlington, Virginia. The event will evaluate projects funded by the TTO for contributions to the DOE's mission and goals.
During the AMR, presentations and reviews of advanced vehicle technology projects supported by the office will take place. The event provides a platform for national laboratory experts, industry stakeholders, and DOE staff to exchange ideas on vehicle technologies.
Reviewers—including current and former members of the vehicle industry, academia, national laboratories, and government—assess projects based on breadth, depth, appropriateness, accomplishments, and potential. Review outcomes are published in the TTO's Annual Merit Review Results Reports.
A block of rooms is reserved at the event hotel, with a reservation deadline of May 18, 2026. Attendees must register to participate, and early-bird rates are available. Registration fees are waived for invited reviewers who confirm attendance.
For registration and general inquiries, contacts are provided. Past presentations from Annual Merit Reviews dating back to 2009 are available in the Merit Review Presentations Database.
