Rayo Vallecano secured a 1-0 win against Strasbourg in their first-ever European semi-final, thanks to a second-half header from Alemão. The goal came shortly after the restart when Isi Palazón delivered an outswinging corner and Alemão escaped his marker to place a looping header into the far corner past Strasbourg goalkeeper Mike Penders.

The first half saw attacking intent from Rayo but lacked clinical finishing, with the Spanish side unable to break through. After the break, Rayo Vallecano asserted dominance and created several opportunities, including a fierce shot from Palazón that Penders saved.

Strasbourg responded with their best chance in the 78th minute after a free-kick routine found Andrew Omobamidele, whose shot was cleared just before it landed. Moments later, Florian Lejeune nearly doubled Rayo's lead from another Palazón corner but was denied by Penders.

With Strasbourg’s history of comebacks, having overturned a two-goal deficit in the previous round, Rayo Vallecano travel to France with a slender advantage, aiming to reach the final and secure a historic milestone for the club.
