The 16th FINA World Masters Championships were held in Kazan, marking the first time the city hosted both the FINA World Championships and the World Masters competitions simultaneously. The event featured competitions across 14 age categories, from 25 to 100 years old.
Disciplines included swimming, water polo, diving, open water swimming, and artistic swimming. More than 50,000 spectators attended the opening and closing ceremonies.
