The 21st World Athletics U20 Championships took place at Eugene’s Hayward Field, featuring intense competition over five days.

A total of 1,659 athletes representing 137 countries competed, with 42 countries earning medals and 24 countries winning gold. Notable multiple medallists included USA's Tate Taylor, who won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, and Jamaica's Shanoya Douglas, who took gold in the 4x100m relay and silver in both the 100m and 200m events.

Six world U20 records were set: Le’Ezra Brown of the USA in the men's 110m hurdles with 12.72 seconds; Isaac Beacroft of Australia in the men's 5000m race walk at 18:40.37; and relay teams from the USA, Italy, Great Britain & NI, and Australia in the men’s and mixed 4x100m relays, with times from 38.16 to 41.64 seconds.

Eleven championship records fell, including performances by Tate Taylor in the men's 200m, Jayden Deleon in the men's 400m, and Emmanuel Kiprono in the men's 3000m. Additionally, five top performances were recorded in combined events by athletes such as Liam Belo Da Silva in the decathlon and Thea Brown in the heptathlon.

Seventeen area U20 records, 111 national records, and 601 personal bests were achieved across events, confirming the high level of competition at Oregon 26.

According to competition rankings, Oregon 26 scored 165,463 points, making it the top-ranked edition based on results, surpassing earlier championships like Cali 2022 and Bydgoszcz 2016.
