An elite women’s hammer throw field headlines the USATF Lone Star Grand Prix in College Station, Texas, on Saturday, the first US-based World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting of 2026. The lineup includes three of the four women in history to throw beyond 80 metres, led by Olympic and two-time world champion Camryn Rogers, who has achieved four 80m+ throws in her last five competitions.
Brooke Anderson, the 2022 world champion, and DeAnna Price, the 2019 world champion, join Rogers. The field also features Rachel Richeson, now sixth on the world all-time list, and Asian record holder Zhao Jie. Zhao and her compatriot Zhang Jiale, the world bronze medallist and U20 record-holder, strengthen the field further. Olympic silver medallist Annette Echikunwoke and 2023 world silver medallist Janee Kassanavoid add more depth to a competition matching global final standards.
On the track, Jamaica’s Oblique Seville will contest his first 100m since winning last year’s world title with a personal best of 9.77 seconds. Rivals include 2021 Olympic 200m champion Andre De Grasse, 2016 world indoor champion Trayvon Bromell, 2023 world bronze medallist Zharnel Hughes, and 9.83 performer Ronnie Baker. The women’s 200m features Olympic champion Gabby Thomas, who recently ran 21.89 seconds, alongside Olympic finalist Favour Ofili, 400m fourth-place finisher Rhasidat Adeleke, world and Olympic finalist Deajah Stevens, and Cambrea Sturgis.
The men’s 200m is headlined by USA’s 2022 world 400m champion Michael Norman, competing against Kyree King, Olympic finalists Tapiwanashe Makarawu and Makanakaishe Charamba of Zimbabwe, and Canadian Aaron Brown. Top contenders in the women’s 100m include 2023 world 4x100m champion Tamari Davis, African silver medallist Rosemary Chukwuma—who has clocked a wind-assisted 10.81 seconds this year—and Jamaica’s world 4x100m silver medallist Jodean Williams. The men’s 400m brings together world indoor champion Christopher Morales Williams, Olympic champion Quincy Hall, 2023 world champion Antonio Watson, and others.
