Phase two of the World Athletics Ultimate Fan Challenge has launched, offering fans a chance to win a VIP trip to the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, scheduled for 11-13 September. This follows phase one, which rewarded knowledge and saw two winners, Emmanuel Orenge Nyabuto and Charis Pantsiou, secure their places on the trip.
This phase focuses on creativity and passion for track and field. Fans can submit creative content in one of five categories—video, graphic, photography, or illustration—to demonstrate their enthusiasm for the sport. Submissions are accepted from 20 June to 23 July. Afterward, top content creators will be shortlisted and put to a fan vote, with the overall winner awarded the final VIP trip. The prize includes travel, accommodation, and a full VIP experience in Budapest.
Nyabuto, from Kenya, expressed excitement about attending and watching his favorite athletes compete, noting it will be his first time traveling by plane. Pantsiou highlighted her lifelong passion for athletics and anticipation to cheer on top athletes, especially those from Greece. Over 14,500 fans from 169 countries registered for the challenge's first phase.
In Budapest, the three trip winners will compete in the stadium to be named 'The Ultimate Fan,' with Usain Bolt, the fastest man in history, observing the competition. Bolt congratulated the phase one winners and encouraged fans to engage creatively in phase two for the chance to meet him and attend the championship.
