Miltiadis Tentoglou matched the Greek long jump record set by Louis Tsatoumas in 2007 by landing a legal jump of 8.66m at the Greek Championships in Volos. He recorded three jumps over 8.60m, with his best wind-assisted effort also measuring 8.66m. Tentoglou improved his personal best by one centimeter, moving to joint 13th on the world all-time list and joint third among Europeans. He described his last jump as the best of the competition and believes a bigger jump is possible this year.
At the Brazilian Championships in Sao Paulo, Alison dos Santos set a championship record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 46.48 seconds, improving the world lead by 0.13 seconds previously held by Karsten Warholm. This marks the second-fastest performance of his career, behind only his 46.29 at the 2022 World Championships. Matheus Lima finished second in 47.97 seconds.
Samuel Vessat broke France's longstanding 400m record with a time of 44.24 seconds at the French Championships in Albi, taking 0.22 seconds off Leslie Djhone's mark from 2007. Vessat was closely followed by Muhammad Kounta and Yann Spillmann, who posted personal bests of 44.55 and 44.92 seconds, respectively. In the same championships, Thibaut Collet won the pole vault with 5.87m and attempted 6.01m, while his brother Mathieu improved his personal best to 5.82m.
At the German Championships in Bochum-Wattenscheid, Emil Agyekum, the national record-holder, won the 400m hurdles in 47.65 seconds, the leading performance of the meet. Owen Ansah achieved a sprint double with a 100m win in 10.00 and improved his 200m best to 20.13 seconds. Jean Paul Bredau lowered his 400m best to 44.72 seconds, and Merlin Hummel secured the hammer throw title with a distance of 79.18m.
Jessica Schilder won the Dutch shot put title in Hengelo with a throw of 20.58m, despite cold and wet conditions. Jorinde van Klinken finished second in shot put with 17.85m before winning the discus with 65.12m. Nadine Visser took the 100m hurdles in 12.66 seconds after previously clocking 12.65 seconds.
