In the men's half marathon final in Porto, Kenya's Owen Korir secured first place with a time of 1:01:58. He was followed by fellow Kenyans Cyrus Kipkemoi Kimaiyo (1:02:03) in second and Timothy Kibet Misoi (1:03:22) in third. Japanese and Ethiopian athletes rounded out the top five, while top Portuguese performances appeared from sixth place onward.
In the women's half marathon, Naomi Chepngeno from Kenya claimed victory with a time of 1:10:35. Margaret Monica Marinjo and Emmy Jepkemoi, also from Kenya, finished second and fourth, respectively. Ethiopian runner Hiwot Mehari placed third. Portuguese competitors featured mainly from sixth place onward in the final standings.
These results highlight the strong presence of Kenyan athletes among the leaders in both men's and women's races, alongside competitive performances from Portugal and other countries.
