Jahcario Wilson of The Bahamas became the fourth fastest U18 110m hurdler with a time of 12.94 seconds at the North, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) U23 and U18 Championships in Apizaco, Mexico. His performance, aided by ideal 2.0m/s wind, puts him just 0.07 seconds behind Sasha Zhoya's world U18 best. Wilson previously won silver in the 110m hurdles and placed fourth in the one-lap event at the CARIFTA Games earlier this year.

Jamaican sprinters Lavanya Williams and Alana Reid impressed in the sprints. Williams won the girls’ 100m in 10.91 seconds, aided by a 2.1m/s wind, with Reid second in 11.05. In the 200m final, Reid took first in 22.29, ahead of Williams at 22.40 seconds (both wind-assisted at 3.0m/s). Williams also contributed to Jamaica's victorious 4x100m relay team at the World Relays earlier this season.

Bouwahjie Nkrumie of Jamaica won the U23 men’s 100m title in 9.92 seconds (wind: 2.7m/s), returning from injury. Damor Miller, also from Jamaica, was second with 10.03 seconds. Both helped Jamaica win the 4x100m relay in 39.30 seconds.

Other notable results included Jayden Green of Barbados winning the men’s 200m in a wind-assisted 20.17 seconds, narrowly ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s Aaron Charles. In the boys’ 100m, Mekhi Guischard-Yearwood of Trinidad and Tobago won in 10.33 seconds, just 0.01 ahead of 15-year-old Jamaican Kai Kelly.

The championships, held at 2,380m above sea level in Apizaco, saw fast times and long jumps, though excessive wind in many events made some results ineligible for personal or championship records.
