Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano has been confirmed as the venue for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League final, scheduled for Saturday, 5 June 2027. This will conclude the 72nd season of Europe's top club competition and the 35th since its renaming to the UEFA Champions League.
The Estadio Metropolitano is set for its second Champions League final, having previously hosted the 2019 event where Liverpool defeated Tottenham 2-0. The stadium, home to Atlético de Madrid since 2017, is situated in Madrid's Rosas neighbourhood.
This appointment makes it the sixth time Madrid has hosted a European Cup or Champions League final, placing it just behind London in number of finals held. The Santiago Bernabéu stadium previously hosted finals in 1957, 1969, 1980, and 2010.
The Estadio Metropolitano holds approximately 70,000 spectators and features sustainable elements such as LED lighting, solar panels to reduce energy use, and recycled rainwater for pitch irrigation. It was the first stadium fully lit using LED technology. The venue is easily accessible via subway line seven, with the Estadio Metropolitano station nearby.
In addition to football, the venue has hosted rugby union, the World Rugby Sevens Series Grand Final, boxing, and concerts. The stadium replaced the Vicente Calderón as Atlético de Madrid's home ground, opening on 16 September 2017.
