At the Lithuanian National Championships in Palanga, Mykolas Alekna recorded a season-best discus throw of 72.65m to secure the title. This was the best throw outside Ramona in almost 20 years. Alekna, who had pectoral surgery earlier this year, has won all three competitions he has contested this season, consistently surpassing 70 metres.
At the Italian Championships in Florence, Andy Díaz achieved a world-leading Italian national record in the triple jump with a distance of 17.87m on his first attempt. He followed with a 17.81m jump in the third round. Simone Biasutti improved his personal best to 17.32m. Leonardo Fabbri claimed the shot put title with a throw of 22.43m, with Zane Weir placing second at 21.42m. Erika Saraceni won the women’s triple jump with a personal best of 14.41m.
At the Spanish Championships in Malaga, Maria Perez set a world-leading time in the 10,000m race walk, improving the national record to 42:12.93.
In Norway, the Championships in Trondheim saw Sondre Guttormsen achieve an outdoor pole vault best of 6.00m on his second attempt, placing him in the outdoor six-metre club. Karsten Warholm won the 400m hurdles in 47.14, and Henriette Jæger broke her own Norwegian 200m record with a time of 22.55 seconds.
The French Championships in Albi saw notable results. Hilary Kpatcha set a meeting record of 6.98m in the long jump, placing her sixth on the 2026 world list, just four centimetres short of her personal best from last year. Isabelle Black reduced her 400m personal best by almost half a second, recording a meeting record 50.47 in the heats—ranking her third on the French all-time list—before winning the final in 50.58 seconds.
