First Lady Melania Trump’s Fostering the Future initiative is expanding nationally with a $2 million donation from IndyCar and Fox Corporation to provide scholarships at Indiana University and Purdue University. The announcement was made during a Rose Garden ceremony, where the First Lady emphasized the potential of young people in foster care to become America’s future leaders.

Eric Shanks, CEO of FOX Sports, said the company believes in sports' ability to create opportunities, highlighting the partnership’s role in funding scholarships and advancing communities through education.

This gift expands the Fostering the Future network to 26 universities nationwide, including major institutions such as Ohio State University, University of Wisconsin, and University of Georgia. The initiative aims to create new educational pathways specifically for youth from foster care backgrounds.

The partnership was featured alongside the upcoming Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, DC, set for August 22-23. An IndyCar race car with BE BEST and Fostering the Future logos was showcased at the White House. The race and all cars will prominently display these brands to raise awareness and support for foster care communities.

IndyCar President J. Douglas Boles praised the First Lady as an advocate for students nationwide and noted the initiative’s potential to open opportunities for youth facing economic and other barriers.

First Lady Melania Trump stated that Fostering the Future elevates youth by merit and talent, overcoming circumstances that might otherwise limit their opportunities.
