AccessibAll celebrates over a decade of promoting inclusion in football with its annual #TotalAccess Week of Action, encouraging football stakeholders across Europe to highlight and advance accessibility for disabled people in the sport and beyond.
During Italy's FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off against Northern Ireland, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) introduced several initiatives, including a quiet room for young disabled fans and an audio-descriptive commentary app for blind and partially sighted supporters at home, intended for future matches as well.
The Croatian Football Federation also used the Week of Action to showcase its audio-descriptive commentary services, aiming to provide blind and partially sighted fans with a full stadium experience. A member of the Zagreb Association of the Blind noted the enhanced experience compared to watching at home.
At club level, AEK Athens supported the campaign during their Greek Super League match against Kifisia, promoting messages of belonging and equality. Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha shared that football belongs to everyone and that exclusion or discrimination is unacceptable.
Additionally, Toulouse became the first French club to receive AccessibAll's Access Champions Recognition after a comprehensive review of its accessibility measures and matchday experience for disabled supporters.
