The White House has submitted multiple nominations to the Senate for confirmation. Mark Abreu of Florida is nominated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to El Salvador, and Alexander Alden of Virginia is nominated for the same rank to Azerbaijan. Other ambassadorial nominees include Christopher Anderson (Cambodia), Stanley Brown (Equatorial Guinea), Joseph Burkhalter (Moldova), William Grayson (Indonesia), Douglas Holder (Bulgaria), Ronald Johnson (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Jennifer Johnson-Carroll (Trinidad and Tobago), and Paul Kalmbach (Paraguay).

Additional key government role nominees include Carl Anderson as Inspector General of the Department of State; Ge Bai as Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services; Donald Blome as Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs; Katherine Bowles as Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs; and Mark Cruz as Director of the Indian Health Service for a four-year term.

Further appointments include Johnny Figueroa as Ambassador-At-Large for Global Health Security and Diplomacy, and also as Ambassador-at-Large coordinating U.S. government efforts to combat HIV/AIDS globally. Daniel Johnson is nominated as United States Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and Philip Lewis III as United States Marshal for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Maria Lopez is nominated as Chairman of the Board of Veterans’ Appeals for a six-year term.
