The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) has announced the technology solutions selected for showcase at the inaugural Permitting Innovators Expo on July 31 near Washington, D.C. The event aims to modernize federal environmental review and permitting processes.

CEQ invited industry partners to submit technology innovations following a directive to update permitting technology for the 21st century. These submissions were reviewed by a panel using CEQ's evaluation criteria, which assessed the potential of each solution to address technology gaps outlined in the Permitting Technology Action Plan.

The selected technologies offer diverse approaches to improving permitting, including tools for document analysis, workflow management, data integration, and the automation of routine tasks. Innovators will demonstrate their solutions to federal agencies and industry leaders focused on modernizing environmental reviews and permitting.

CEQ will also publish a Permitting Innovators Solutions Catalog in 2026, to be distributed to federal agencies. Those interested in attending the expo may submit an interest form to participate.
