National football associations are customizing UEFA's sustainability strategy to their specific contexts, focusing on accessibility enhancements, child and youth protection, equality, diversity, inclusion, and circular economy actions to operate football more sustainably. These initiatives are redefining the understanding, implementation, and measurement of sustainability within football.

Recent sustainability workshops have brought together associations, professional clubs, leagues, UEFA, and the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), generating new ideas, collective actions, and clear commitments. Additional workshops are planned in Belgium, England, Greece, Portugal, and Spain, expected to create new initiatives, networks, and practical tools to embed sustainability into daily football operations.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) initially prioritized social impact, particularly accessibility, by introducing audio descriptive commentary, sensory rooms, and inclusive matchday environments at major events. Their focus has recently expanded to environmental sustainability, guided by UEFA frameworks for organizing domestic finals and international matches, including the upcoming UEFA European Under-19 Championship. The FAW has integrated sustainability guidelines within internal operations and adopted a sustainable sourcing code, alongside circular economy practices such as material repurposing. According to Jason Webber, FAW's senior equality, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability manager, these strategies have improved governance, accountability, and consistency across Welsh fixtures and tournaments, while raising awareness and capabilities within the wider football community.

Meanwhile, the Italian Football Association (FIGC) has incorporated sustainability into the matchday experience, introducing a national team match format featuring audio descriptive commentary, sensory rooms, partnerships with NGOs for player mascot experiences, and inclusive hospitality roles.
