A public scoping meeting will take place on July 14, 2026, to support an independent audit of the 2016 Compliance Order on Consent, which oversees legacy environmental cleanup at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).

The Consent Order is an agreement between the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Sundance Consultants, LLC will lead the third-party audit to evaluate the effectiveness of the Consent Order, focusing on how well DOE and NMED are meeting its purposes and principles.

The meeting aims to collect community input on topics and concerns that should be addressed during the audit. Feedback will help shape the audit's inquiries.

The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mountain Time at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Remote participation will be available via an online platform and phone.

Further information about the audit process can be found in Appendix G of the Consent Order.
