The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has delayed the implementation of three additional restrictive mandates on home appliances proposed by the Biden-Harris administration, according to a March 24, 2025 announcement by Energy Secretary Chris Wright.
Previously, under Secretary Wright's leadership and in alignment with former President Donald Trump's policies, the DOE postponed the implementation of seven related home appliance mandates originally introduced by the Biden-Harris administration.
These postponements reflect ongoing adjustments by the DOE to energy efficiency regulations for home appliances.
