On August 25, 2026, President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation ordering flags across the United States and at U.S. diplomatic facilities abroad to be flown at half-staff to honor the memory of Dolly Parton.

The president directed that the flags be lowered at the White House, all public buildings, military posts, naval stations, and vessels throughout the U.S., its territories, and possessions until sunset on September 1, 2026. This order also applies to all United States embassies, consular offices, and military installations overseas, including naval vessels and stations.
