The 2026 UEFA Business Case for Women’s Football brought together key sports figures to discuss the evolution and business growth of women’s football. UEFA’s director of women’s football, Nadine Kessler, described the event as a pivotal platform for stakeholders to address what is needed to advance the commercial side of the game.

UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin emphasized the role of strong leadership in growing the sport and called for engagement with sponsors, broadcasters, and partners to drive investment. RB Leipzig CEO Tatjana Haenni and BK Häcken president Anders Billström supported this, stressing that women’s football must be part of shaping budgets, strategy, and commercial partnerships, not just recipients of funding.

Development on the pitch was also highlighted. UEFA deputy general secretary Giorgio Marchetti and other leaders noted the importance of European competitions in creating a player-focused environment and raising standards. Although the women’s game is growing rapidly, UEFA urged patience and consistent investment to overcome ongoing challenges.

Manchester United defender Fridolina Rolfö described the Women’s Champions League as the pinnacle competition for players, greatly aiding their development and considered the biggest annual event in women’s football.
