Travis Kavulla has been appointed Administrator and CEO of the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), leading the agency’s mission to provide affordable, reliable, and secure electricity to the Pacific Northwest, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.
Secretary of Energy Chris Wright noted Kavulla’s broad experience in the energy sector and stated that it will support BPA’s efforts to modernize and expand energy infrastructure while maintaining the reliability of the regional power grid. Wright expressed his anticipation of working with BPA as it continues as the leading wholesale power provider in the region, supporting a strong future for the Pacific Northwest and the nation.
Kavulla was officially sworn in by Under Secretary of Energy Kyle Haustveit at BPA headquarters in Portland, Oregon, on June 29.
