Daniela's passion for diving began after watching athletes perform somersaults and twists in the air, inspiring her to take up the sport.
Growing up in Colombia, where diving is not widely practiced, Daniela was drawn to the challenge of the sport, especially overcoming fear and difficulty.
She trains rigorously with at least two sessions daily, combining water and dryland exercises, and remains committed even when tired or scared.
Her career progressed significantly with an opportunity to train in Toronto as part of a centralized program with divers from several countries. There, she gained access to improved facilities, medical support, frequent competitions, and dedicated coaching.
Training and living with athletes from various nations expanded her cultural perspective and athletic knowledge. Observing top competitors has enhanced her technical and mental performance.
At the World Aquatics Diving World Cup Final in Beijing, Daniela competed in the women's 3m springboard head-to-head format but did not advance to the semifinals. Still, she considers the event a valuable test and learning experience.
