NASA is offering a range of STEM activities this summer for students ages 13 to 18 to explore space science and technology. From June 1 through September 30, participants can join the online Stardance Challenge in partnership with Hack Club. The challenge encourages students to create projects such as code, apps, electronics, circuit boards, models, or simulations based on real NASA mission data, including Artemis and the James Webb Space Telescope. Hack Club offers peer and expert reviews, prizes, and opportunities to showcase work, while NASA provides access to mission materials, multimedia, and virtual expert sessions.

NASA is also hosting virtual career events to provide insights into technical professions essential to aerospace missions. For example, on June 2, NASA’s Career Technical Education Day at Goddard Space Flight Center will focus on robotics, AI, autonomous systems, and skilled technical careers, with registration required by May 26. Another event on June 11, Virtual Career Connection: Aviation Technology and Maintenance, introduces aircraft mechanics and technicians involved in NASA’s flight programs, with registration due by June 2.

NASA encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in Citizen Science projects, allowing volunteers to contribute to real NASA research and connect with scientists and peers. Additional resources and information about STEM careers at NASA are available on the Next Gen STEM for Careers webpage.
