Public employment services (PES) across OECD countries are increasingly adopting digital technologies to enhance service delivery. This trend accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic, as PES expanded their digital capabilities to support and maintain contact with clients.
As part of modernization efforts, many PES are turning to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve their operations. Currently, about half of OECD public employment services have implemented AI-based solutions.
AI applications in PES cover key service areas, including matching jobseekers with vacancies, profiling jobseeker needs, providing information through chatbots, and assisting employers in creating job advertisements.
