World Aquatics has established a process for the approval of wearable devices for use in swimming and open water competitions. Brands seeking approval must submit their products through an online form specified by the organization. Member Federations submitting new versions of already approved products must send requests directly to the World Aquatics Office.
Athletes planning to use approved wearables are required to declare these devices when reporting to the First Call Room at World Aquatics competitions. Failure to declare wearables may result in disqualification, highlighting the importance of compliance.
