The World Aquatics Support Programme promotes the development of aquatics worldwide by providing targeted financial support to World Aquatics Members at the National Federation level. Funding assists projects enhancing competition management, governance, administration, equipment acquisition, and participation in competitions and training. The programme supports all aquatic sports, aiming to foster environments where these sports can flourish.
National Federations are eligible if they have participated in at least one of the two most recent World Aquatics Championships or Swimming World Championships (25m), successfully completed earlier editions of the OASP & AQUASP programmes, and responded to the latest Governance Survey by the specified deadline.
The programme also features a Mentorship component lasting six months, bringing together ten Member Federations from all continents. This initiative focuses on strengthening governance, administration, and leadership through collaborative learning, expert guidance, and structured group sessions, aiming to advance strategic plans and best practices among participants.
Additionally, the Pools for All programme supports global aquatics development by promoting safe and secure swimming access worldwide. It addresses the major issue of drowning—the third leading cause of death globally—and assists countries with limited technical and logistical aquatics infrastructure.
Overall, the World Aquatics Support Programme empowers National Federations to improve efficiency, transparency, and independence, fostering growth across all levels and demographics of aquatic sports.
